Honoring startups and entrepreneurs during Global Entrepreneurship Week

Sioux City will celebrate local entrepreneurs and startups during Global Entrepreneurship Week, an international initiative from Nov. 18-24.

Global Entrepreneurship Week aims to inspire people everywhere to get involved in activities that embrace innovation, imagination and creativity. Sioux City will participate by encouraging people to make connections and explore their own entrepreneurial ideas, and by recognizing the innovators who launch startups that bring ideas to reality, create jobs and drive economic growth.

Starting today, we’ll  highlight a local entrepreneur every day. There are many entrepreneurs right here in Sioux City who need community support to succeed and making their stories known can allow others to learn from their experiences. Throughout the week, startups and entrepreneurs will also be acknowledged with a small gift to say thank you for their efforts and for growing their business in Sioux City.

On Thursday, we will host a Biz Brew event at The Snug/McCarthy and Bailey’s on Pearl Street from 5-7 p.m. Biz Brew is a networking event aimed to bring people together who are interested in fostering a startup community and creating a positive environment for new and growing businesses. Whether you’re a seasoned business owner, a young entrepreneur, an investor looking for the next great idea or just a citizen interested in promoting creative endeavors and entrepreneurship, please join us.
