Business for Breakfast event hosts Tom Chapman

Tom Chapman, who is helping attract and promote entrepreneurship and technology startups across Nebraska, will speak Thursday, Nov. 29, at Business for Breakfast, a regular business-focused gathering in Sioux City.

Chapman is vice president of operations for Nebraska Global, a venture capital fund founded in 2010 in Lincoln, Neb., with the express intent of growing high-tech startups in the state. The breakfast is free and open to the public.

Chapman comes as Sioux City, its business leaders and local entrepreneurs work to build momentum for entrepreneurship and innovation in western Iowa’s largest city and the region.

“We’re bringing Tom here because he is one of the experts in the field and he has accomplished a lot in Omaha and Lincoln,” said Sam Wagner, Economic Development Specialist for the City of Sioux City.

“He will talk about some of the things that he has done and some of the things that we can do in Sioux City and in the I-29 corridor to develop an entrepreneurlai ecosystem.”

Business for Breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. at the Sioux City Convention Center.
